IBOF blurb:

In Beds of Flowers.jpg

Dion Evestre has been the right hand to the Fae king for over eighty years. In that time, he has fulfilled every dark order presented to him, each one hardening his heart. But two women, from two different times, will test Dion as he never has been before.

Ciaragen Vey: wielder of shadows, daughter to a famed general…and orchestrator of the downfall of the Fae king. Will she succeed in her task, or will her darkness and desires be her own downfall?

Althea Cardenia: fourth in line to the crown of the human continent, and a powerful healer. In a centuries-old tradition, she must choose a man to marry by her twenty-first birthday. She’s resolved to do her duty, despite the part of her that wishes for more.

But, as always happens in faerie tales, Althea learns to be careful what she wishes for. Because the fate that comes to her in the final hour is far worse than the last.

With no knowledge nor experience in how to fight this new enemy, Althea finds herself forced to do something even harder: to trust them. Him. The one who betrayed her, and her family.

Or, maybe she’ll stab him–again.

The POVs:

Dion Evestre

Meet the royal executioner--turned spy. A villain by all rights.

Except, perhaps, the one that matters most.

Ciaragen Vey

In one time: the bodyguard to the villain.

In another: honor-bound to protect those she loves...from the person she might have come to love more those years ago.

Althea Cardenia

Princess to the human continent,  powerful healer, and skilled warrior.

When betrayal severs her from the life she once knew, she is forced into her fate. And, perhaps she will find...that she likes it better.

T3V blurb:

Separated by time, and a sea, what might have been two happily ever afters were darkened by destiny.

Althea knows her truth now–or, at least she thinks she does. The only thing she is certain of as she voyages to her birthland is the steady presence of her unlikely ally, Adathan.

Otherwise, she is faced with doubt at every turn. In Ciaragen, and the secrets she keeps. In Atlas, as she balances a new distrust with her lingering affections. And in Emelina, the woman whose life Althea led as the human princess she thought she was.

Together, they journey from one continent to another, learning as much about themselves as they do about each other.

Meanwhile, Dion’s tormented past is brought to light. What did he endure for those twenty-one years separating his past from Althea’s present? Only one person knows. And he just happens to be on a ship headed to Eshelle.

The POVs:

Dion Evestre

Once the villain, now something far worse.

Spend the past twenty-one years with Dion, and at their end, ask yourself...is it truly better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all?

Ciaragen Vey

One of many bodyguards to the former human princess.

Is it harder to survive...or forgive?

Althea Cardenia

Our heroine no longer knows who or what she is. She is fortunate, however, to have made a resolute ally. As she heals from her trauma, he is consistently there for her. Alongside her once-paramour, and his best friend.

Lina Bentashi-Mikhyala

Badass with a slight attitude problem, and a heart of gold. Yet, her past haunts her--especially since it came face-to-face with her in the hallway of a ship.

Adathan Evestre

Who is Olin Evestre's son beneath the male he tried to bind to his own evil? And why is he so drawn to a once-human princess?

Jess Layne: author of IN BEDS OF FLOWERS and THROUGH THE TWISTED VINES

Jess was born and raised on Long Island, NY. She may not live there anymore, but she will always talk with her hands, and drive like a New Yorker because of it.

She has a degree in health sciences, hence the partiality towards using that knowledge in Althea’s point of view. She took creative writing in high school, shortly after the Twilight/Hunger Games/ Divergent craze, and even started writing a bit herself in her free time. But, those journals have long since been lost, hidden, or thrown away.

She lives with her husband, that baby, and their dog, who wonders when the furless puppy will start playing with her.
